December marked a momentous occasion as Migori County joined the world in celebrating the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The event was a true testament to the power of community and commitment to inclusion.
Among the highlights of the day was the recognition of outstanding individuals and organizations who have gone above and beyond to champion Disability Diversity and Inclusion within the county. Our Director and the Geno Epilepsy Centre for Empowerment were honored with certificates of recognition for their exemplary contributions in this critical area.
These prestigious awards were presented by the National Council for Persons with Disabilities, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. The council’s acknowledgment underscores the tireless efforts made by individuals and organizations to create a more inclusive society where persons with disabilities can thrive.
As we celebrate this milestone, we are reminded that true inclusion requires collective effort, advocacy, and unwavering dedication. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the awardees and reaffirm our commitment to fostering a world where diversity is celebrated and everyone has the opportunity to shine.
Let’s continue to champion inclusion, not just on this special day but every day!
